Communal area aboard the Pride of Kaadara
Reg sat down in front of a small video monitor, tucking a napkin into his collar as he waited for the vidlink software to connect to the system's hub. He closed his eyes as he let the aroma of his meal drift up his nose. It was a shame to be away from the Nomad on company address day but life happens and at least he is in charge of his own menu.
Reg opened his eyes and glanced down at his plate. 2 slices of pan fried Corellian sea cucumber on a bed of steamed, mashed brawballow and dressed with a sweetweed jus, served with a glass of young but good quality blue wine. The best thing about owning your own small freighter, in Reg's opinion, was the opportunity to set aside a little extra room for a top notch galley.
The vid screen blinked the NovaStar logo, quickly replaced with a wide angle view of the meeting table from a perspective as though he were sat there. In the background Reg could see a small table, 2 jugs of water and a pot of something steaming - probably coffee Reg mused - sat atop it. Reg looked once more to his plate and smiled smugly to himself.
-I wonder what the boss has in store for us today...

Far depths of space, on board the Death Cheater II squadron
Veronique hit the console a few times, hoping the signal would hold, muttering profanities under her breath, finally catching herself and laughing out loud, "Nobody cares a fuck what you say Jinx, there's no one here!" Holding her sides and laughing more, she sits back in her captains chair, the laughter subsiding. "I've got to go back and get supplies... this system search is driving me mad. I need to be in the presence of living things."
"I beg to differ madam, I am programmed to be a consummate companion," TX14 gave Jinx a look of arrogance, as much as a droid could.
"TX, it's not the same. Besides, D's got some stuff going down that we've been talking about. I need to get this comm fixed before he hands down the news. And I'm tired of mealpaks. I want actual fresh food, not this space junk. I need to feel the ground under my feet, you appreciate that, right?"
"A fresh oil bath and proper tuneup would be nice," TX14 replied wistfully.
V smiled. "Let's get this comm fixed, get the message and then head to restock. We'll come back to the search after we recover from this haul." V ducked under the console again, tools in hand to fix the comm bank.

The door opens and Savanna walks in, her attention diverting from the datapad in her hand as she looks up and smiles. Waving to the screens showing a few smiling faces and makes her way to the coffee with a brief nod and hello to the BD droid.
"Hey BD."
BD is familiar with Savanna, so returns the brief greetings with its own.
"Greetings again Commander De'Long. The meeting should be commencing shortly."
She then heads to the table and takes a seat where she remains engrossed in the datapad until the meeting starts.

Thaleon re-enters the cockpit having made another daily rounds of the ship but he finds once again that he is only being on this long haul transport delivery assigned to him.
Checking the ships logs, Thaleon notes that he entered Hyper some three days ago but still had to fill the next twenty days until he would reach his destination. The transportation industry can be a lonely life but Thaleon knew that when he joined up with Novastar after his now famous 2 year coma that had suddenly struck him in the middle of a construction project for his former company.
Having left his favourite book (101 ways to cook toydarians and they are all wrong) on his private craft that is stored down in the docking bay, plus being too lazy to make the trip, Thaleon remembers that Damij had called a meeting of the minds for Novastar and had invited everyone to attend.
Feeling like this would be a better move on his part, plus the whole lazy thing, Thaleon patches through to the Novastar meeting room.....

Nasvaki rushes intobthe room, afraid she is late for this "meeting". But she is also confused, confused as to the fact that she was envited to this congregation having been a new member. But she didn't question it, the invitation having been directly from Damij.
At a first glance the room was way to clean and shiny to be for any normal meeting. There was a food cart but it only held water (of which she wpuld have normaly chosen, but she had justvarrived from kamino), and coffe which was allready bothering her hightend sense of smell.
"Would you like somthing to drink mam?" Asked the service droid.
"WAH? Oh no thank you, i'll be fine." Nasvaki answered slightly startled by the droid.
"Ah, you must be the new one, well if you are ready take a seat at the table and insert your ID card into the computer, then imput your code. Any important information you need to go over will be displayed under an envalope. Also sitting directly across from your seat would be Damij himself."
"Thank you,"
"Will every one find their way to their seats we will be beguinining soon." Was annonced over the entercom.
Nasvaki found her way over to her seat without to much trouble, but had forgoten her code again. By the time she got into her computer terminal the meeting had begun to start.

With a small hiss the door opened and in walked Damij Maximus: Without a word Damij went to the refreshment cart and poured himself a tall glass of water. He then walked to his designated seat and began to review the notes he had prepared for his team. Glancing across from him he noticed a new Hound sitting there looking a little uncomfortable. That she had managed to get to the NST Nomad from her starting point relatively on her own and so quickly pleased him greatly. Not wanting to embarrass her or put her in the spotlight he simply nodded his head in her direction then returned his focus back to his notes. He then reached for his glass, took a sip, then redirected his attention to the Pack there with him and on comm screens lined up around the table..... Well now....here we are again. Good to see you all and glad you could make it. I'm sure those that haven't or can't have very good reasons. They'd better, anyway. Nah, just kiddin. This isn't actually mandatory. Instead this is my commitment to keeping the Pack well informed and up to date on where we are as a family. I've always felt it important to address the entire team with any and all information that I can about what is going on here at NovaStar/Octagon. It's proven that groups that operate on the same page with like minded direction and goals usually come out pretty well on the other side. So again thank you all for attending, but also in the big picture you are here for your own benefits. Hopefully something here will assist yo in your individual journeys. First and foremost we need to welcome a couple of new Pups to the Pack. As many of you know already these new recruits should not take the term "Pup" as an insult of a slight in anyway. It is just a term used to describe a new member within the team. All of us were Pups at one point or another and it's just a term of endearment we use until you are able to function and contribute at will within our organization. And know also that as far as anyone else outside of our organization you are a full fledged Hyper Hound and deserve the respect that goes along with that title. So without further ado please welcome: Whunph Griizk Nasvaki Corseck Anyone that has the time please drop a DM to them and welcome them to the team. Thank you. Next we need to acknowledge a few that have come back to us after strange, catatonic, coma like symptoms overtook their lives leaving them still and motionless, almost like being in a perpetual state of suspended animation. This "illness" can strike anyone at any time and sometimes it happens to those that are close to us. When this happens I like to keep them on our roster so that when (IF) they come to I want them to see that we never gave up on them and they are still welcome within our ranks. In my experience those that are cured from that inactive physical state feel very grateful once they realize the commitment we give to them, and it helps them jump back into the swing of things without missing a beat. Here they are and I am so happy that they are well and have returned to us: Thaleon "Big Man" Luxetz - Thaleon is actually one that created NovaStar with me back when it was just a few ships and a couple pilots. Since we weren't up to faction status at the time we didn't have one central location to hold our income from services and our company capital. So Thaleon held everything in his own account. I hope this displays two facts. First that I trust him with everything, and second that he CAN be trusted with everything. Remember that. This one may be quiet, but if you are in a jam and there is no one else to turn to he may be the one you can turn to for assistance. Buck "Hawkman" Hawk - While Thaleon started the company he was a silent partner (by choice). Buck here was actually the first or second pilot EVER. A true backbone and friend to the organization and all of its needs. A clear example of a sentient being that could probably be somewhere else making twice the credits yet he continues to humble me by helping us in the fight to be a better and stronger company. And he is another that you can go to for assistance, questions or just basic insight. A good ally to have in your corner and most important, my friend.
Chess Dakkart - Chess is one of our newer recruits. The illness came over her quite early in her time with us. However when she came to finally she realized she was stranded on a ship in the middle of nowhere. Well we got her out but what impressed me most about this little one was her ability to wait out the "rescue mission" . It took sometime to get to her and where others might have given up Chess never gave up hope and kept communication constant. Pretty frackin tough if you ask me. And within days she has already thrown herself into the next NovaStar mission. Also in light of her recent actions I would like to announce her new call sign. No longer a Pup she will be know as Chess "Klutch" Dakkart. Her recent revival has come at a really good time for our company because we needed someone we could count on to handle the very mission she is on, hence her new call sign. Definitely a clutch performance by this Hound. We also have two more members of our Pack that have earned their call signs. These two have been with the team a little longer than most but as some of you know I come up with all the nicknames myself and they come from some type of action I see or feeling I get about you. These are two Hounds that have been milestones in our development. Krall "NoBS" Atvar Tiwaz "Stryker" Chord Now that we have gotten through the "touchy feely" part of this meeting we will take a short break, because the rest of the info I have for you is all meat and potatoes. I'm really going to need your attention to all details. So let's get a drink, take a smoke, whatever it is you do and get back in place in a few so that we can continue. At this intermission, Nasvaki sighed. As of yett not much attenchion had deen directed at her. She did returne the few greetings she got from the other humans, aliens, holograms, and the like. But striktly avoided bumping into any of the main administration in fear of making a fool of herself. One thing wandering around Cathar hadn't helped.
Once again the droid offered her a drink, this time (after having realized hiw hot the room was under her fur) she took a glass of water. And smiled as she persived what appered to be satisfacton from the droid as she walked away.
Remembering abruptly about the messedges on her console, she returbed to her seat. Finding that she had a few messeges. Mission report requests (she hates filling those out), more contracts, but one imparticular that interested her. A letter from an old friend named, Joran Keith.
Tge letter read:
Dear old friend,
I hear you have finaly found an occupation for yourself, hope it gose well. On a happier note your birthday is comming soon. I do hope you don't miss the party again. See you soon.
Joran Keith
Nasvaki then realized someone had veen standing behind her.

*Lucky wakes up in an unfamiliar bunk, the all too familiar hum of a hyperdrive engine in the background* Where am I? *he asks to anyone in particular before walking over and sitting down at the terminal.* What day is it and what happened to me? *he sends a quick message before checking the date and logging into his messages.* Man I've been out a while. What has been going on? *he pulls up the most recent SOTC address and plays it, making a mental note to get caught up on the news next.*

 Damij walked back into the meeting are from a small door to the west of the room. Upon taking inventory of all there he happens to notice a familiar face he hasn't seen for some time. He nods in the direction of Lucky and makes a mental note to catch up with him at a more private time.
Alright folks, let's go ahead and get back into this for a bit. I feel a lot more comfortable now that I got out of that get up from earlier. But this is what we do sometimes to gather the attention of those we respect. Please excuse the smoke. It will dissipate very shortly. And I must confess, the biggest reason I need your attention to detail is because I'm not the best with words and communicating exact ideas. Not to mention I'm prone to babble a bit. I started with a bunch of shit written down but it seemed a little too much like a script. So in the spirit of what we try to promote here I'm just gonna shoot off the cuff and see what happens. For example I just realized I forgot to mention another new Pup to our ranks. Angelique Stardancer Please drop a communique to her and welcome her into the family. Now some of you will hear information that you are already privy to but this is also a bit of a quick review every now and then for those that have just joined our ranks. So stay with me.... First off an update on our recent fortune in the area of Raw Materials. Our territorial holdings are minimal at best. The only good thing about this situation is the hope that it provides. While the growth is in very small increments at this point in time, the fact that there is constant growth is very encouraging. I know that is just my opinion however seeing this company run from a few ships, to a few facilities....then a couple of cities...then a few more cities...then construction begins so that the inhabitants of our meager lands are at least comfortable, happy and free...so on, so on...and now we have reached the next step in the ladder - three of the locations that NovaStar has ownership of or has a presence in have shown massive veins of Raw Material. The amounts and types should not be discussed in a public forum as this but suffice it to say that fortune has shined on us greatly, even if it appears to be of small significance. I personally have surveyed the locations of the deposits and upon arrival of the LIN Series Mining Droids I will be hopping over to a friendly mining company and beginning construction of our first three mines. And this also includes the luck that has befallen our interests on the Octagon side of our house. They too have recently discovered three deposits within the areas they are developing for our overall financial security. I hadn't even thought about the possibility of maintaining raw materials when this all started and I want to thank everyone that has assisted in making this un-forseen good fortune a reality within our organization. This brings many new facets to our existence. While we are far from having all materials necessary for universal production at will, we do now have access to 6 veins which we will not have to worry about purchasing for some time to come during our inventory production and asset development. This also gives us the option to maintain the mines and create another stream of income that will go right back into the fabric of our existence. That means we can invest in our members and our growth, not to mention the attention from potential clients will fortify networking opportunities that could lead us in new and exciting directions. It is quite an opportunity and we will soon need Hounds that are interested in mining, RM sales, and of course our good old regular RM Transport and logistics. I feel very positive about this turn of events and hope that you do as well. Next, It has come to my attention that one of our esteemed and most respected colleagues has made a request of me. Now I must say I am not exactly thrilled about this....but that is only because I am sometimes selfish, lol. But this request is more than a request, it is a display of respect and love for our organization. See I am the owner of our two organizations but in essence it is the hard work and commitment from all of you that makes the machine move...even an inch. Our entire existence is built on the premise of us working together and actually feeling like you are a part of the big picture. We've done pretty well with that so far. However, the main motivator, watch Hound, Pack Mother, and friend of the NovaStar branch came to me with concern about her recent attention to the company. As you know Veronique Jinx has been the best leader a company could have. Not even a hiccup during the entire time we have grown from what we were to what we are now. However my love and respect for her companionship is humbled by her approach to the matter. Instead of holding on for dear life at the expense of the Pack, she has selflessly decided to give another an opportunity to move up in the ranks to make their mark, to begin their path in leadership. Damij turns and looks directly into the video screen patched to Veronique.Delta V....I won't make a big deal here and now. I know you aren't about that and that's another reason you rank so high in my eyes. But it is important to me that our group knows without doubt how I feel about your contributions to this family. I'm not really that disappointed at all about you wanting to enjoy life a little. I'm actually honored that you are still sticking with our rag tag bunch of knuckleheads and also proud that you are displaying the proper and dignified way to transition from one life stream to the next. Thank you for being so damned classy, as always. Now the rest of you feel free to bug her at will for anything from home cooked recipes to the best tips on slaying Rancors. So what this means is that I will be leading the Company for a while, until we find the proper replacement. Tenure really only counts for security and trust reasons. But don't let time in service stop you from showing interest in this position. You will start to learn things about me as time goes by. For example, in my opinion, passion is a great thing and I admire that, but passion AND the ability to get it done is such a better quality. Again, only my opinion. Go Get it. Moving forward...you all will notice me leaving the company soon. No need to worry about out structure, everything is fine. However, I do have to leave the company to get the proper tech support to build these mines ((i.e. faction hop)). And after that I have decided to spend some time with The Octagon League. Just to really get a good feel for what is going on there. It's also to be a reminder to all of you there that yes, you are, beyond a doubt, as full a member to this organization as anyone in NovaStar. And to top it all off I see this as an opportunity. CEO Savanna "Fly By" DeLong has transformed that from "little project" into a respectable entity. In a little over 2 Galactic years. I am thrilled and excited about the chance to work beside someone with that much vision and organization. The opportunity to learn and pick up new techniques will lead to nothing but further success for all of us. Oh and sorry V, that means you will have to be the face of the team just for a little while longer until I get back. But I'll hurry. Shouldn't be more than a couple weeks. But I hope and pray that at least some of you knew that, and if you didn't than the fault lies upon MY doorway. I want to stress again, the final part of this meeting will contain some very crucial information that is going to really affect the presence of our organization. I think it's pretty exciting but I want to share all of this with you before I make a final decision. Yes the final decision is mine to make, but this way if anyone is strongly against such an action they can voice their opinions and reasoning to me for consideration. And believe me, I take everyone's opinions and suggestions into consideration before I make major moves with the company. -Jedak leans back from the console and takes a deep breath- Man its good to be back, but seriously.....what the hell happened to me? -He spends the break researching the medical side of the holonet hoping to find answers, occasionally muttering to himself and generally just looking confused.- It seems to be happening a lot whatever it is. -he continues to no one again.- And it doesn't look like anyone has had any ill effects from it....hmmmm -he scratches his chin before looking back at the small video playing in the corner, maximizing it as the boss walks back in. He nods when they make eye contact and thinks "this is gonna be big isn't it...?"

By now Nasvaki has calmed down, the person behind her had veen a falce alarm. She has spent to long on her own. As this second speech ended, Nasvaki opened a document on her terminal and began to jot down notes.
Number of people in the room.
Number of deposits.
The need to find a new contact within the company for instruction
Esct....
She also started to note some of the manerisms of the higher ups in the faction. How Damij responds to certain questions and statnents. Veroquin's steedy relaxed look in her Holo Skreen, and just generaly how every one got allong. Even the Octagon League Members seemed at home.
There where a few people avoiding conversation but they seemed to be far and few between.
Once again Nasvaki thought of her ship and tried to think of how she could benefit the company with her simple Y-wing, other than staying out of the way. I realy need to rectify that.
But then she noticed her terminal had frozen. Which was odd on most acounts as the computers behind the skreen where fairly advanced. After about 5 minutes of milling around in the terminal she found a shorted out fuse. Luckly she had just come from repairing the targeting sensors of her craft. She had a number of fuses of varius sises in her pocket, and only hoped she had the rite one. After about 15 minites she found one that fit into the slot. Plugged it in and closed the panel. After restarting the console and re-logging in az herself, she was satisfyed with her work. She finished the notes, grabed another glass of water (the room seemed to be getting stedily warmer), and returned to her seat just in time for the meating to continue.

Reg cringed at those words, turning slowly round in his seat and peering through the open hatch to his ship's small cargo hold where sat 3 shiny new powered down and totally useless LIN series miners.
He'd found what looked like a good deal, but when he came to collect the units it turned out his account manager with the manufacturing faction was on vacation! Reg had managed to get the units loaded onto his ship after a lot of hassle with some underling at shop but they wouldn't be activated and made over to him until the account manager's return. Something to do with enhanced owner security routines that required his presence to disable. Reg could have had a go at hacking the units but thought a few days wait to get working droids would be preferable to no droids at all or otherwise compromised units.
Reg had completely zoned out of Damij's presentation and was frantically fumbling with the controls of his calendar system to try to work out how long it would take to get back home once the account manager had pulled his tentacle out, so to speak.
Before he had finished, the broadcast had gone quiet and Damij had once again made his exit.
"Oh I am so fired..." Reg muttered to himself, as he scanned the broadcast back a few minutes to listed again to what he had just missed...
OOC: Fear not! although the above did happen, sort of - using some artistic license there, I'm now safely back home with the precious cargo, but you know, role play!

Savanna smiled at the goings on around her during the intermissions from the various people in the room and monitors via transmission. Nodding in greetings to the ones she knew as well as those she was unfamiliar with.
She had an idea what the next meeting portion would encompass, yet remained silent but hopeful. Knowing if she was correct, the future implications for her growing family would be heaped with promise and further growth... She only wished she could figure out something to increase TOL's active member count so all the plans and goals she had would be able to able to show fruition.
Atleast a few of those afflicted with the strange space sickness, which placed the victim in a coma, had returned unharmed...Even if a little disoriented.
The blue twilek's thoughts were interrupted by the hissing of the door and Damij's return. Bringing her attention back to the meeting, Savanna sat back and gave her Boss, Mentor, and Friend her full attention.
